    The Treatment

    Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are a regenerative treatment that works on the quality of the skin itself, not on its shape. Rather than adding volume or smoothing lines, they help the skin behave like younger skin again: thicker, more elastic, more hydrated. At 23MD, we hold a range of specific brands within the polynucleotide family and select the right one for you.

Some changes don't respond to fillers or anti-wrinkle. Crepey skin under the eyes, thin skin on the neck, a generally tired or fragile quality, these are problems of skin biology, not shape. Polynucleotides are one of the few treatments that address them directly. The clinical decision is rarely 'polynucleotides yes or no', it is which polynucleotide, in which area, as part of which protocol.

    About

What it is, how it works.

    How it works

Tiny amounts are placed just beneath the skin's surface in the area being treated. Over the following weeks, they support the skin's own repair cells to work more actively. Different polynucleotide products have different molecular profiles, Ameela is particularly well-suited to delicate areas such as under the eye; Plinest is more commonly chosen for broader facial skin-quality work.
